This fit my 2009 S80 V8 well. I did have to drill holes in it to mount the splash panels (Volvo #30681690/30681691). The fitter who installed the knuckles for me did not mount the splash panels, so I did it myself with a Bosch electric drill, which has a level vial built into the case. You will need a drill bit for metal, and a tap set to tap threads into the mounting holes. Just rise the front end of the car (both sides), remove the wheels and brake rotors, and use sandpaper (a small sanding block with 80 or 100 grit is find) and sand the mounting points shiny and flat so you have a 5-7 mm circle shiny and flat in the middle of each mounting point. Then hold the correct (left or right) splash panel on the knuckle to see where the holes need to be (you have to position it carefully otherwise it will scrape on something when you ae steering, or scrape on the brake disc) and use a permanent marker (in the US I'd use a "Sharpie") to color in the mounting hole circles. Then using an automatic center punch you will make a dimple in the exact center of those circles; then use the drill to make the holes. Nest use the tap to thread the holes and mount the splash panel. When you mount the splash panel, do not tighten the screws all the way at first - get them close enough to hold ("set") the plate in place then if you have to move the plat a little so you are clear of the rotor and other steering parts. An easy way to do this is to put the brake disc on after you have set the backing plate then see if it scrapes both when you rotate it and when you turn the steering wheel lock to lock. Make adjustments as needed then remove the rotor and tighten the mounting screws fully (check VIDA for torque values but frankly, prevailing torque should work fine - just do it by hand so you do not strip the threads, the knuckles metal is somewhat malleable).
